I saw her pulling out her board and thought. How could you not at least ask for a photo. We talked for a few minutes about surfing, She said she sucked but loved it. We agreed that it's not about being good it's about loving the moment. We went about our way.
Atlantic City New Jersey USA When I first saw this man on the rocks I wanted a very different shot. I wanted that battered fisherman. We started to talk; I asked him about fishing. He complained like fisherman & photographers do. I said yeah I hear ya, I came out for a sunrise shot but I wasn't early enough; at least you did your part and got out here early for your sport. After a little more talk I asked for a photo. He said SURE but WAIT! I have to turn my hat around. I'm a Vietnam Veteran, I need that in the picture. I said Respect to that and of course take your time. I said I have Uncles & a Cousin who served in Vietnam Respect to all of you. What Branch can I ask? MARINES! I said my Dad is a Marine, My Brother is a Marine and one of my Uncles who served in Vietnam, he's a Marine too. Respect to all of you. The photo I wanted was trash, this is DIGNITY & PRIDE!
